One of the most beautiful of the flowering hedges is the Bonica rose. These flowering hedges were voted the world’s favorite rose in 1997. They are easy to grow and very disease resistant. The colorful blooms of these flowering hedges are slightly fragrant and bright pink. These flowering hedges are hardy to zones four through nine.

Another popular group of flowering hedges are the Spiraeas. These flowering hedges have blooms that are very attractive to butterflies. The color of the bloom varies based on species and cultivar, and can range from white to pink to yellow. The mature height of these flowering hedges also varies by species, but most will be from two to four feet tall. The slightly fragrant blooms will appear in early June, and repeat blooms will be sporadic throughout the summer months. They are hardy in zones four through nine.

The glossy green foliage will appear soon after the bright red blooms cover the plant. Excellent in borders, these flowering hedges will attract animals with the yellow-green apple-like fruit. These flowering hedges will grow to a height of three to four feet and are hardy in zones five through eight.
